Previously, Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed assisted this client with the purchase of 28 Applebee’s in New Mexico and Virginia. This is the fourth asset purchase for this client, and the firm assisted with asset purchase agreements, liquor licenses, and documenting a $35.5 million loan from Regions. National Solar Power Partners to Construct 200MW Solar Farm Project
We are proud to announce that our client, National Solar Power Partners, LLC has entered into a development agreement with Hardee County, Florida to construct a $700 million utility-scale solar farm complex in that county, creating over 50 new jobs for engineers, maintenance works, groundskeepers and security crews, among others. The complex will, when fully constructed, consist of ten 20-megawatt solar farms, each generating enough electricity to supply 2,000 homes. Under the development agreement, Hardee County has granted a property tax abatement over the first ten years of operation of each solar farm. This abatement will not affect taxes due to the Hardee County School District.
Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2012, and take six months for each 20-megawatt solar farm. The company will utilize about 140 acres per solar farm. The project site is known as the Holly Hill Grove property, just east of Jersey Lane and a dairy farm bordering on State Road 64 West. We celebrate our client, National Solar Power Partners LLC.
Firm Client Clifton South Beach Honored with LEED Gold Certification
Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A. is proud to announce that its long-time client Clifton Hotel, LLC’s Clifton South Beach Hotel has received its first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for its environmentally sustainable design and construction. The hotel is the first certified building in the City of Miami Beach, the first LEED Gold hotel in the State of Florida, and the only LEED certified hotel in Miami-Dade County.
The firm has represented Clifton Hotel, LLC, and its affiliates with respect to the acquisition and financing of three Art Deco hotels located in South Beach: the now LEED certified Clifton South Beach, the Majestic South Beach and the Nash. Clifton Hotel, LLC, has been a client of the firm since 2007, and the firm’s lead counsel in this matter was Ormend Yeilding.
