Representative Client Experience
- During the first seven years, major areas of practice included criminal law as the Assistant County Solicitor (DA) of Orange County. Also was General Counsel for the Florida State Turnpike Authority, represented the Com Banks chain in Central Florida, and many corporations involved in the defense and space programs.
- After retiring from Congress in 1979, much of the work was in Washington centered primarily in the communications/anti-trust field. At that time, Judge Greene was supervising the breakup of AT&T and there were many issues before the Court and the Congress. Business formations, especially in the communications field, occupied some the time between 1978 and 1986, including forming cellular companies and a company that built the first private fiber optic cable between England and the United States.
- Since returning to Florida in 1987, a majority of my practice has been forming and counseling businesses, helping with the financing, and working with companies to ensure that there is a successful exit strategy. The practice has also included service on boards and public bodies such as the Governor's 20/20 Energy Commission and representing the Orange County Health Facilities Authority.
- Also advised clients who had governmental problems in Washington and Tallahassee, and worked on several major tax problems with the Florida Department of Revenue for major Florida companies such as Darden Restaurants, Inc. andFlorida Citrus Sports.
