Representative Client Experience

Morey Raiskin, a shareholder of the law firm of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., chairs the firm's Labor and Employment Law Section. Prior to joining the firm, Morey served as Lead Labor and Employment Counsel for Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc. and Administrative Vice President of Sea World. He also practiced management labor law in Las Vegas, Nevada where he represented several major hotels and casinos, as well as the Nevada Resorts Association.

Morey provides consultation, analysis and litigation representation to numerous local, national and international employers concerning all facets of labor and employment law, including development of personnel policies, procedures and handbooks, wage and hours issues, employee discipline and discharge, drafting and litigating employment and non-competition agreements, litigating employment discrimination claims before administrative agencies and the state or federal judiciary, union avoidance planning, union elections, collective bargaining and unfair labor practice proceedings.

Representative Projects

• Defended Orlando Magic in reverse discrimination/defamation case which, with appeals, remained active for eight years. Plaintiff demanded approximately 20 million dollars.
• Defended numerous age, race, sex, natural origin, and disability discrimination actions in state and federal courts.
• Defended and prosecuted numerous non-compete litigations.
• Defended several wage and hour audits launched by Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division directed towards hotel, tourism, restaurant or entertainment industry clients.
