Orlando, FL – Lowndes is pleased to announce that Shareholder Rebecca Wilson has been appointed by Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings to serve on the “Housing for All” Task Force which will reexamine the current state of housing for Orange County residents and help sustain and accommodate the County’s growing population. Wilson will be one of 38 members from six Orange County districts to serve in this role. Each leader will come from a diverse group of non-profit organizations, local builders, real estate developer associations, community partners and financial institutions.

The Task Force will have an action plan completed by the Fall of 2019. Additionally, the plan will propose code and policy changes and incentives to support a greater diversity of housing products in Orange County. These will include mixed-use and mixed-income neighborhoods, transit-oriented developments and creative housing prototypes. For more information and a full list of Task Force members, visit

At the firm, Wilson focuses her legal practice on land use and development. She has worked throughout Central Florida with local governments in order to address the needs of her clients related to zoning, comprehensive plans, concurrency, administrative law, Developments of Regional Impact (DRI’s), procurement issues, due diligence, and property rights. A leader in her field, Wilson represents property owners, developers, lenders and other participants in a wide array of projects. Over the years, such projects have included high-rise developments in downtown Orlando, hotel developments, planned communities, large “power-centers”, redevelopment of existing buildings, mixed-use projects, big box commercial projects, projects within historic districts, multi-family development (including Affordable Housing and Senior Housing) and office developments. She has been recognized as one of the “Forty Under Forty” and “Up-and-Comer” finalists by the Orlando Business Journal in the past. Wilson has also been selected as one of the “Women To Watch” honorees in the ‪Orlando Business Journal Women Who Mean Business Awards and named one of the Ten Most Influential People in Winter Park by Winter Park Magazine. Wilson received her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. She is the Chair for Urban Land Institute Central Florida District Council.
