Lowndes is pleased to announce that Shareholder Ed Clement has been re-elected as chair of United Southern Bank. Clement, who has served on the board for 15 years and has severed as the chair for the past 7 years, has been heavily involved in the Lake County community where he has served on the boards of local, regional and national civic and charitable organizations.

A shareholder in the firm’s Mount Dora office, Clement serves as the co-chair of the Commercial Finance & Lending Group. Clement has over 30 years of experience in banking law, institutional lending and structured financing, and commercial real estate transactions and developments. He represents state and national banking clients and assists with their commercial real estate loan transactions, bank and trust day-to-day operations, bank site acquisitions, dispositions and leasing, along with multi-jurisdictional FDIC and non-FDIC multi-site bank takeovers. Lending institution clients benefit from the experience of serving as the chairman of the United Southern Bank and General Counsel to the bank and its holding company. Clement has also served on the Audit Committee, and as Chairman of the Trust Department Committee. Beyond banking, Clement has extensive local and national experience in commercial real estate transactions, surveys, and issuance of title insurance, along with estate and trust planning and administration.
