Lowndes is pleased to announce that Shareholder Jon Gibbs was recently honored with the Elizabeth Susan Khoury Guardian Ad Litem Award of Excellence from the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association (LAS) for his outstanding work as a guardian ad litem, advocating for and working on behalf of abused and neglected children.
In recognition of Gibbs’ service, Legal Aid Society staff said, “Jon has always been a champion for LAS… He truly embodies the spirit of pro bono work.”
Over his 20-plus years of volunteer service, Gibbs has contributed more than 1,000 pro bono hours, handling 30 cases that helped a total of 54 children find safe, permanent homes.
“I believe that as attorneys our obligations of advocacy do not end with our paying clientele,” said Gibbs. “We must all do our part to ensure that those in need have access to representation.”
