Laura Walda Named to Winter Park Magazine's 2021 People to Watch

|Press Release

Orlando, FL – Lowndes is pleased to announce that attorney Laura M. Walda has been named to Winter Park Magazine's 2021 People to Watch list. The annual awards program recognizes younger people who are doing remarkable things and are leaders in the Winter Park community’s business, creative, charitable and philanthropic worlds.

Active in a number of community and professional organizations, Walda is serving as president of both the Orlando chapter of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) and Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens in 2021. Walda also serves on the board of directors and the government affairs committee of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of the chamber’s Leadership Winter Park program. She is also a cofounder of WP Voter, which aims to get more locals under age 50 to the polls during municipal elections.

“Winter Park is a very special place to live, but change is going to happen,” commented Walda. “We need to embrace change that makes sense for families and business. I’m a person of compromise. I believe that’s the way things get done — by having conversations where you can get to ‘yes.’”

As a shareholder in Lowndes' commercial real estate practice area, Walda has served as lead or co-counsel on numerous multimillion-dollar transactions. She frequently handles contract and lease negotiation and drafting, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, negotiation and structuring of credit facilities and review of title insurance matters. She also has experience in commercial litigation focusing on title insurance matters, landlord/tenant disputes and banking litigation.
