Lowndes provided zoning and land use counsel to Yaeger Development Company for the development of a 739-single-family home subdivision and 20,000 square feet of commercial uses in Winter Haven, Fla. Located along Lake Fannie and Lake Smart off of SR 544, the project required changes to a 14-year-old planned unit development (PUD) and a zoning change, which were unanimously approved by the Winter Haven City Council on July 27, 2020.
The PUD for the 346-acre property was significantly modified, changing the project’s development standards, the overall residential density and commercial intensity, and the approved types of residential and commercial uses.
Lowndes attorney Tara Tedrow, a shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate Transactions, Development, Land Use, Zoning & Environmental practices and chair of the Cannabis & Controlled Substances Group, represented Yaeger Development Company during the approval process.
