Lowndes CEO and President, William T. Dymond, Assumes Position of Orlando Economic Partnership Board Chair

Orlando, FL – Lowndes is pleased to announce that the Orlando Economic Partnership (OEP) announced its 2019-20 Board of Directors officers, which includes Lowndes CEO and President, William T. Dymond, assuming the position of Board Chair.

Having previously served on the OEP’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors, Dymond has also chaired the organization’s Business Development Strategy Council and was formerly the Chair of the Economic Strategy Committee and Co-Chair of the Investor Relations Committee. Dymond is a long-time supporter of civic and charitable organizations and has served as a board and executive committee member of Enterprise Florida which promotes economic development statewide.

“As our new fiscal year sets in motion, we are truly honored to have volunteer leaders that are highly committed to the prosperous economic future of our region,” said Partnership President and CEO Tim Giuliani.

Appointed by Governor Scott, Dymond also served as the Chair of Space Florida’s Board Of Directors for 6 years from 2013 to 2019. The organization, which serves as the state’s aerospace and spaceport development authority, has partnered with NASA to operate Kennedy Space Center and expand the state’s ability to dominate the growing commercial space market while creating jobs in this unique sector.

As the past Chair of Florida Citrus Sports, Dymond has been instrumental in a number of initiatives in the sports industry, including a leading role in securing the renovation improvements to the Camping World Stadium. The investment has attracted world-class entertainment and sports, including the Rolling Stones and the NFL Pro Bowl. Dymond also served as the lead negotiator in securing multi-year television agreements with ABC and ESPN for the Citrus Bowl and Camping World Bowl games, as well as team selection agreements with the Big 10, SEC, ACC, Big East and Big 12 conferences – all big wins for Central Florida. Dymond is also a co-founding board member of LIFT Orlando, a nonprofit organization comprised of business leaders partnering with residents to accelerate community transformation and to break the cycle of poverty through holistic neighborhood revitalization in the shadow of the Camping World Stadium.

Additionally, Dymond serves as the General Counsel to Visit Orlando and sits on its executive committee and board of directors in that role. Dymond’s service to community includes charitable organizations as well, such as Morningstar Charities, Heart of Florida United Way and American Diabetes Association’s Father of the Year Council, among others. Dymond is a recipient of the prestigious James B. Greene Award which was named after a visionary leader to Central Florida – a pioneer who shaped the history and defined the future of the community.
