Lowndes is pleased to announce that the firm has promoted Hanna Edeback, Matthew McMurtrey and Brian E. Smith to the position of shareholder.

“We are proud to elevate Hanna, Matt and Brian into the firm’s ownership,” said William T. Dymond, Jr., Lowndes President & CEO. “These talented individuals have demonstrated their commitment to the firm and our clients by providing exceptional legal service and embodying the collaborative spirit that makes our firm’s culture unique. We congratulate them on this well-deserved achievement and look forward to their continued success.”

Edeback represents a wide array of clients in the acquisition, sale and leasing of commercial real estate, including industrial, multi-family, senior housing, office and retail projects. She also assists with complex commercial lending transactions, including real estate, asset-based and other types of loans. A substantial portion of her practice is focused on industrial leasing, and she has significant experience advising both landlords and tenants on the unique issues arising through complex leasing transactions involving industrial, warehouse and manufacturing spaces.

McMurtrey concentrates his practice on the acquisition, financing and development of commercial and residential projects. He routinely represents home builders and commercial developers, handling all aspects of complex real estate transactions regarding office buildings, industrial properties, shopping centers, hotels, senior assisted living facilities, apartment complexes, residential subdivisions and condominiums. He has assisted clients with navigating the tax-free exchange process (both forward and reverse). A lifelong equestrian, he also advises clients on a variety of equine law matters.

Smith counsels property and business owners statewide through every stage of the often complex and confusing eminent domain and condemnation process, from preliminary negotiations to valuation determination to trial. His litigation experience extends beyond eminent domain and condemnation to include representation of clients in complex commercial litigation, government contracts, professional liability, constructions defects, and other general business issues.
