The one common denominator businesses deal with regardless of their industry is the impacts caused by state and federal legislation.

The issues range from further implementing medical marijuana into the businesses eco system to understanding new economic development efforts such as the federal Opportunity Zones Program and the ongoing federal partisan disagreements that can cause hiccups in local operations.

For Orlando, each of these issues can impact job growth, investments in the region and and the way the region is viewed on a global scale. That can affect everything from how developers build here to outside visitation to the region, which can lead to downward trends in local economics.

That's why Orlando Business Journal gathered 17 local attorneys from various firms on June 3 to discuss issues and trends they are keeping an eye on. Click through the slideshow above to see what the panelists discussed about the legislation they are tracking, why it has caught their attention and more.
