Governor Issues Mandatory Quarantine and Isolation for Certain Travelers Entering Florida

Effective 12:01 am on March 24, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a new Executive Order directing all persons whose point of departure originates from outside the state of Florida in an area with substantial community spread of coronavirus, including the New York Tri-State area (Connecticut, New Jersey and New York) and entering the state through airports to isolate or quarantine for fourteen (14) days from the time of entry into Florida (or the duration of the person's presence in Florida, whichever is shorter).
The Order does not apply to persons employed by the airlines and those performing military, emergency or health response.
If you are isolating or quarantining under this order, you are responsible for all costs associated.
Violation of the order is a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable by imprisonment (not to exceed 60 days), a fine not to exceed $500, or both.
