Senior Housing Occupancy Rates – The Road to Recovery
In a recent article published by Senior Housing News, Chuck Sudo discusses senior housing occupancy rate predictions for 2021. Many older individuals chose to suspend their plans to move into senior housing due to concerns related to isolation from friends and family and the general safety of senior housing facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This delayed move-in trend has contributed to the historically low occupancy rates the industry is currently experiencing. However, given the recent flow of COVID-19 vaccines, combined with the pent-up demand caused by the delayed move-ins, senior housing leaders are generally optimistic that 2021 will mark the beginning of the senior housing recovery.
