Laura Walda Named President of CREW Orlando
Orlando, FL – Lowndes is pleased to announce that shareholder Laura Walda has assumed the position of president of the board of directors of CREW Orlando, which is the leading organization for senior-level executive women in the Central Florida commercial real estate field. Walda, who most recently served as president-elect of the organization, has been a member for more than 10 years. Her one-year term began January 1, 2021.
“Like many organizations, 2020 challenged us to find innovative ways to provide meaningful programming and networking opportunities amid the pandemic,” said Walda. “As the pandemic’s lasting effects on commercial real estate remain uncertain, I look forward to supporting our members by further strengthening member connections and encouraging our strong tradition of member-to-member business.”
Active in a number of community and professional organizations, Walda also currently serves as president of the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens in Winter Park. She is a member of the board of directors and the government affairs committee of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, as well as a graduate of the chamber’s Leadership Winter Park program. She also cofounded WP Voter, which aims to get more locals under age 50 to the polls during municipal elections.
As a shareholder in Lowndes' commercial real estate practice area, Walda has served as lead or co-counsel on numerous multimillion-dollar transactions. She frequently handles contract and lease negotiation and drafting, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, negotiation and structuring of credit facilities and review of title insurance matters. She also has experience in commercial litigation focusing on title insurance matters, landlord/tenant disputes and banking litigation.
