Norma Stanley Appointed to the Board of Legal Specialization & Education of The Florida Bar
Orlando, FL – Lowndes is pleased to announce that Shareholder Norma Stanley has been appointed to the Board of Legal Specialization & Education (BLSE) for The Florida Bar. This prestigious committee oversees the work of all of the certification committees for The Florida Bar and is charged with identifying for the general public and the profession those attorneys who have substantial experience and have demonstrated special knowledge, skills and proficiency in certified areas of practice and professionalism and ethics in the practice of law. Stanley’s appointment is effective July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.
Stanley, a shareholder in the Private Wealth Services Group at Lowndes, is Board Certified in Wills, Trusts & Estates by The Florida Bar. She advises clients on estate planning, federal tax, probate, trust administration, guardianships and elder law. With more than 25 years of legal experience in wealth transfer, business succession, sophisticated tax, trust and estate planning, estate and trust administration and family office creation, Stanley represents a myriad of clients, including high net worth individuals and their families, beneficiaries of trusts and estates, personal representatives, trustees and small business owners.
Admitted to practice in Florida and Alabama, Stanley holds a Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Florida College of Law and a Juris Doctorate from The University Alabama School of Law.
Active in the legal and civic community, Stanley currently serves on The Florida Bar Ethics Committee and is a past chair for the Wills, Trusts and Estates Certification Committee of The Florida Bar. She is also the founder and chair of the U.S. Trusts and Estates Practice Group within Meritas, which is a global alliance of nearly 200 law firms worldwide. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Meritas as well. In the Central Florida community, Stanley served as past president of Florida Executive Women, as a member of the Board of Directors for the Orlando Philharmonic and as a member of the Orlando Shakespeare Theater Advisory Council.
