Rebecca Rhoden Appointed to Orlando Museum of Art Board of Trustees
Lowndes is pleased to announce that Shareholder Rebecca Rhoden has been appointed to the Orlando Museum of Art Board of Trustees.
Founded in 1924, and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) institution, the Orlando Museum of Art is Orlando’s flagship museum and a leading provider of visual art education and experiences in a four-county region. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) in 1971, the Orlando Museum of Art (OM°A) is a regional asset and a catalyst for life-long learning in service to the central Florida community and visitors from around the globe. The mission of the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) is to stimulate creativity and intellectual curiosity by connecting people from all backgrounds and experiences with compelling art and new ideas.
Rhoden focuses her practice on litigation and appeals, with a particular emphasis on land use litigation and issues involving the Fair Housing Act. Rhoden routinely represent developers, both to defend approvals of the permits and orders that are necessary for them to develop their property and to challenge denials of the same. She has significant experience representing clients in the affordable housing industry, including two of the largest affordable housing developers in the region. Many times, these clients face challenges from local governments who throw up roadblocks based upon public pressure. With Rhoden's help, she is able to overcome those roadblocks and develop the much needed housing.
